How we source pomegranates
Our procurement team travels to find fruit that stands up to preparation, from growing regions across South America, Europe, North Africa and beyond. Variety, ripeness and handling all show up in the seed, so we select on eating quality and technical compliance rather than availability alone.
A worldwide grower base also means continuity. We work across origins to hold quality through the season, and we are straight with partners about when a line is genuinely all year round and when it is better ranged as seasonal.
How we prepare pomegranate seeds
Pomegranate is not a fruit you can process casually. It moves from dedicated raw material storage into specialist pre-processing, washing and decontamination, then into our high care areas where it is prepared by an experienced team with dedicated equipment and then heat sealed in film chosen to protect the seed through shelf life. We have invested specifically in pomegranate capacity because the technical demands are different to everything else in the fixture.
Our food safety management system is certified to BRCGS with an AA+ grading and we are ISO 45001:2018 certified, so quality, safety and working conditions are all evidenced rather than asserted.
Pomegranate seeds formats and range
We supply pomegranate as a solus ready to eat pack and as a component in mixes and platters, where its colour and texture do a lot of work alongside other fruits. Formats span everyday pots, breakfast and topper formats, sharing and platter lines, and bespoke builds developed with partners.

Insight and category growth
Pomegranate does not follow the rest of prepared fruit, and that is exactly why it earns its space. The prepared category peaks in summer, while pomegranate peaks at Christmas and carries into the New Year, so it delivers growth at the point in the year when the rest of the fixture is slowing down. Interest keeps building too. The category has more than doubled in recent years and growth has been sustained rather than spiky, yet most of the UK still has not bought it once.
A fast growing category with low penetration is a rare thing in fresh produce, and it means the next phase of growth comes from new shoppers rather than from squeezing existing ones.
That is where we put our effort. We track and test the category, so range decisions are evidence led rather than instinct. We also invest in demand: category first content and activation built to bring new households in, from recipe and occasion inspiration to health led communications and instore sampling that lets people taste before they commit.
